About the Show
The City of Palmerston will host a visit by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on Saturday 22 June 2013 at Palmerston Recreation Centre from 11.00am till 3.00pm.. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 and is world renowned for his work and teachings on both religion and secular ethics.
The focus for the session would be secular (non religious) ethics in the everyday lives of citizens, with an emphasis on children and families. The visit will include a 30 minute address by the Dalai Lama, followed by 45 minutes of prepared questions and 15 minutes of open questions from the audience.Prior Entertainment will include a presentation and chanting from the Gyuto Monks of Tibet, the Chung Wah Society Lion Dance and a Jade Dragon Dancers performance.
