About the Show
Join Professor David Lindenmayer AO as he explores the science of recovery and environmental impacts in this exclusive seminar at Melbourne Zoo.
As an expert voice for wildlife conservation, Zoos Victoria is devastated by the impact of the bushfire crisis on wild species and their habitats. With the vast amount of misinformation about the recent bushfires, this seminar provides an opportunity to discuss what exactly these fires mean for ecosystems, wildlife and their environment.
Prof. Lindenmayer is a world-leading expert in natural resource management, conservation science and biodiversity conservation. Join David as he explores the science of fire and post-fire biodiversity recovery, drawing from the past 37 years of detailed fire and disturbance-related work encompassed over 220 scientific papers and 5 books.
With Zoos Victoria and WWF, this two-hour seminar will cover topics on climate change, hazard reduction burning, the science of species persistence and key ways to tackle fire and biodiversity protection problems.
Doors open at 5.30pm and drinks are available for purchase at the bar.
This event will be AUSLAN interpreted. Priority seating will be available in the front row.
