One of Australia’s most eminent and awarded playwrights takes Lorca’s classic tragedy out of the villages of Spain and into the heat of rural Western Australia.

With their mining-mogul father dead, the Alba household is in mourning. Angela has inherited a fortune and is engaged to the local heartthrob, but as tensions rise and tempers flare between her sisters, the future seems wildly uncertain.

Eminent playwright Patricia Cornelius has taken Federico García Lorca’s classic literary tragedy out of the villages of Spain and into the heat of rural Western Australia to explore themes of passion, repression and isolation in an exhilarating adaptation directed by Leticia Cáceres (The Distance, The Effect) with a superb cast including theatre legend Julie Forsyth(Endgame), Peta Brady (SHIT) and Bessie Holland (Wentworth) with Melita Jurisic (John) starring as the family matriarch.
