About the Show

PRIZE & PREJUDICE – AWARD-WINNING WOMEN

Norman Mailer famously stated, ‘I doubt if there will be a really exciting woman writer until the first whore becomes a call girl and tells her tale.’ To ensure there was no misunderstanding Mailer cemented his chauvinism by proclaiming that, ‘a good novelist can do without everything but the remnant of his balls’.

Award-winning authors Melissa Lucashenko, Josephine Wilson and Charlotte Wood join Meri Fatin for a fiery conversation about writing, money and the politics of women winning prizes.
