About the Show

Hundreds of everyday guitarists from across Melbourne take over Hamer Hall in one epic free concert, playing alongside a line-up of Aussie music legends.

Melburnians have been dusting off their guitars to learn a setlist of iconic rock anthems at free rehearsals across Fitzroy, Frankston, Werribee, Dandenong, St Albans and Broadmeadows. Musicians of all skill levels and ages were welcomed to join the band, led by internationally acclaimed artist and musician Joseph O’Farrell (JOF).

Our community rockstars will perform live in Hamer Hall with a special guest line-up, including Adalita, Vika and Linda Bull, Ella Hooper and Yirrmal. Hosted by Brian Nankervis and backed by the best house band going around, featuring members of the RocKwiz Orkestra and Paul Kelly’s Band.

Rock out to classic anthems made famous by the likes of AC/DC, Metallica, Queen, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, The Angels, Led Zeppelin, John Farnham and Daryl Braithwaite, performed by local guitarists, choirs, community groups and even a marching band.

The Vinyl Vixens – a female led DJ mentoring project – will be spinning rock mashups between sets, you can boogie down the aisle with Anna’s Go-Go Academy, stamp your feet to the Werribee Concert Band’s thundering rendition of ‘We Will Rock You’, hear Led Zeppelin reimagined by Melbourne Ukulele Kollective, plus much more.

Celebrate the joy of live music and community in this free, all ages event. In the immortal words of AC/DC, “for those about to rock, we salute you!”
