About the Show
UNMODERATED: MARIA TUMARKIN ON POWER-
THE GAUNTLET SERIES
In three separate sessions, we feature three clear-eyed non-fiction thinkers. Each will take to the stage for an hour to riff on a theme and throw down the gauntlet.
Power: Maria Tumarkin is one of Australia’s foremost writers of non-fiction. She has written four books – the latest of which – Axiomatic – was shortlisted for the Stella Prize in 2019. In this special talk, Tumarkin offers us a sense of what it means to have and to hold power in these dark times. Tumarkin is an honest and serious speaker and her commentary is full of a humility and wit that make her a must-see guest at this year’s festival.
Unmoderated is a mini-lecture series set to provoke and challenge. Be prepared to have bubbles burst and your preconceptions unsettled
