About the Show

Queerstories is a national LGBTQI+ storytelling project curated by Maeve Marsden featuring a book, event series and an award winning podcast boasting more than 250 stories. The series has sold out at festivals and independent venues around the country for the past five years, and returns to Canberra on Saturday 8 May, with a fabulous line up including Dale Sheridan, Kaya Wilson, Christine Van and Yenn Purkiss.

There’s more to being queer than coming out and getting married. Queerstories celebrates the culture and creativity of the LGBTQI+ community, one true story at a time. Vulnerable and fierce, hilarious and heartbreaking, Queerstories features both professional storytellers and emerging talent, each guest sharing the story they want to tell, but are never asked to; unexpected tales of pride, prejudice, resilience and resistance.
